Education: B. Sc, 1897, Lafayette College, Easton, Pa.;
Married Phillipsburg, N. J., Sept. 10, 1902, Mary L. Foster; children: Charles Foster (1901), Donald W. (1905).

Work: Superintendent, Arthur Leighton Co., Methol, N.Y., 1897-98; Berry Bros., Manistique, Mich., 1899-1900; Charcoal Div., Algoma Steel Co., Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., 1901-09; Charcoal Div., E. I. Du Pont de Nemours & Co., Bay City, Mich., since 1909;

at various times acted as construction engineer to wood distillation firms in U.S. and Canada. Invented method of pre-drying wood for chemical plants, now in use in the large modern plants; inventor or adapter of various minor apparatus or methods – as a result, plants can and do operate 33% to 60% over rated capacity.

Social: Bay County Community Board, president. Bay City Rotary Club; general chairman. Citizens Committee directing building of schools of Bay City. Member, Society of Chemical Industry. Director Bay City General Hospital. Mason.

Recreations: Civic work, all sports. Clubs: Board of Commerce, Rotary, Republican. Presbyterian.

His Best Investment.

I very much regret missing the Rotary luncheons, because I think they are the best medicine I have been receiving during the year. I think Rotary is the best investment I have ever made. The dividend returns in fun, in instruction and in fellowship, beats anything I have knowledge of.
