Mr. Davies is a technical chemist by profession, having graduated from Liverpool College, and has a long practical association with chemical industries; he was articled to James Muspratt & Sons, chemical manufacturers, Liverpool, and became Manager of their Liverpool works in 1899; this Company was absorbed by the United Alkali Company the following year; three years later, Mr. Davies was made Manager of the Hutchinson works of the Company at Widens, Lancashire; he came to North American Chemical Company, Bay City, Mich., 1899, and came to Toronto as the General Manager of the Standard Chemical Iron and Lumber Co., of Canada, 1913, becoming the Company's vice-president the same year; upon Mr. Davies rest largely the responsibility of the general management of the Company's business. During the last five years of his residence in the States he was a Director of the First National Bank, Bay City, Mich., and also President of the Civic League of the same city.
Married Sarah Elizabeth Simister, daughter of Timothy Simister, Runcorn, Eng., Aug. 23, 1893; has two daughters.
