Born, Southington, Conn., June 8, 1866, son of Joseph R. and Roxanna G. (Gridley) Hitchcock;
parents moved to Bay City, Mich., 1868; educated in public schools of Bay City;
married at Bay City, 1889, Jennie L. Lanford, 1 daughter, Fanny L.
Entered employ of the Hitchcock Lumber Co., 1884; came to Detroit, 1902, and filled position of secretary and treasurer of the City Lumber Co.; was one of the organizers of the Central Lumber Co., 1905, of which was secretary and treasurer until 1908; since dealer in lumber, Mexico.
Former alderman and police commissioner of Bay City. Republican. Espiscopalian. Mason (32 degree), Knights Templar, Shriner. Recreation: outdoor sports.
Residence: 115 Pingree Ave., Detroit, Mich.
